Oldest person in the room

“If you’re the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.”

If you’re in the business world, you may have heard this quote, which speaks to the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are more intelligent than you, so you are inspired to learn, grow and venture outside of your comfort zone.

I invite you to put a different spin on this concept:

“If you’re the youngest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.”

Recently, I found myself in several situations where I was the OLDEST person in the room:
🧘 Down-dogging in a packed yoga studio in Brooklyn
💃🏻 Jumping in a trampoline class in Tribeca
🎸 Shaking my booty at a rock concert in Asheville, and hanging out with the band after the show. (Well, Rob was with me then so he wins the age contest there🤣.)

Did being in these situations make me feel old?

NO! Being the oldest person in these rooms inspired me to remain relevant, active and vibrant, and to continue to take steps–big or small–outside of my comfort zone. In fact, it made me feel younger…

…and studies show that feeling younger than your age may actually be good for your health, and help you live longer!

Where and when do you plan to be the oldest person in the room? Shoot me a note and let me know!
