Self-Care Day

Yesterday, April 5, was National Self-Care Day.

I think it’s kinda sad that we need to have a National Self-Care Day, but most of the women I talk to tend to put their own needs and well-being on the back burner all too often..

Which is so bass-ackwards, because if you're not taking care of your own bad self, how can you possibly take good care of anything or anyone else? As they say, you really do have to put your own oxygen mask on, first.

I move to make self care a priority for all women. Not only a priority, but the #1 priority!

And if calling basic practices, habits and rituals something trendy like self-care reminds you to take good care of yourself, then I’m all for it.

But isn’t it selfish?

Not at all. If you stop and think about it, it’s the opposite.

I know that when I’m well-rested, well-fed, moving my body and getting plenty of quiet time, I’m a much kinder, patient human, dog-mom, daughter, leader to my clients and partner to Rob.

When I’m not? I’m like a crazed toddler.

What about you? What do you know you need to do to show up as the best version of yourself?
